Detective Boone Warren: Sniffing out the criminals or finding your Halloween candy

As promised, I found a fabulous halloween costume for Boone! This also marks the one year anniversary that Boone has been a member of our family.

As usual, I'm laughing hysterically while taking pictures of Boone... Kwille as always chimes in with "He knows your laughing at him". Here, Boone and Kwille refuse to look directly at the camera because of my hysterical laughing.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Over the eleven months that Boone has been a member of our family, I have taken numerous photos of him sleeping or attempting to sleep.  "Why?" you ask, because 1. he's just too darn cute 2. the positions and places he rests in are pretty funny and 3. Kwille has asked me to stop taking pictures of him (Kwille)... (not of him sleeping of course - that would be weird)

9 wks old - in the car on the way home for the first time - I can actually say he's completely comfortable with me... he's sleeping belly up and we've only known each other maybe an hour

After his first trip to the vet - being violated really tuckers him out

Laying in Kwille's lap is priceless

Laying in Kwille's lap at 75lbs - looks like Kwille is paying the price

Moving pillows, blankets or the occasional mom or dad... that's not Boone's style

Boone's absolute favorite position and place to sleep: Mom and Dad's bed. Once we leave the room, he takes over the bed, laying his head on the pillows and if he's cold he some how manages to get under the covers. We are trying to break him of this habit... as you can see we're doing a great job!

A Dog with Many Hats

Growing up I always wanted a big fluffy dog, later in college I decided that I wanted a basset hound (love the ears). When Kwille and I made the decision to get a dog we compromised on the type of dog we wanted (he wanted a hound hunting dog and I wanted a basset), so we went with the bloodhound (hunts and still has those cute ears).

Now all through this time of daydreaming and compromising I swore that I would never dress my future dog up in any type of clothing... then Boone Warren came into our life. What a cute face, floppy, stretchy skin and those extra long ears, what could make this puppy even cuter? Add a festive hat of course!!

I'm not sure what got into me, but the first hat I bought him was just too cute and he made our 2009 Christmas cards a hit.

But why stop at Christmas? For Easter, Boone was our little Cadberry bunny.

Christmas, Easter... apparently not enough, for his first birthday I spent the dough to buy him his own birthday hat. He looks like a little wizard from Harry Potter's world.

While photographing these moments, poor Boone either sits there and looks depressed or tries to take off his hat. Do I feel a sense of shame that I dressed my dog up and that I can't stop laughing at him (queue: Kwille: "He knows you're laughing at him")?

Nope, he looks so darn cute and I'm sure he loves the attention that he gets.

Halloween is just around the corner... I'm looking for the perfect hat: pumpkin? maybe a bat?
